Rasha Hassan is a PhD candidate in the Geography Department at the University of Barcelona. Her research addresses the challenges of water and food security in the MENA region by building on systems thinking and catalysing an evidence-based, multi-stakeholder dialogue around associated trade-offs. Her particular focus is on harnessing the benefits of participatory approaches and serious games to bridge the gap between science, policy and associated practices and implement climate adaptation in this region. Her PhD dissertation is titled: “Bridging science and policy: Toward advancing water and food security under climate change stresses in the Eastern Mediterranean”. Rasha believes in the power of collaboration with other counterparts to work on solving the world’s pressing issues and exchange expertise and success stories, thus she is a member of several international networks including IWRA.
