Ting Ruan is a professor in the Research Center for Eco-Environmental Sciences, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He graduated from the University of Science and Technology of China in 2006 and received a Ph.D. degree in Environmental Science from the Graduate School of Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2011. His research interest focuses on identification of novel environmental organic pollutants by advanced analytical methodologies, including high-resolution mass spectrometric non-target screening analysis and quantitative structure-property relationship predictions. Experiences have been gained in elucidating the occurrence, fate, and ecological risk of contaminants of emerging concern in multiple environment matrices. He was a member of the expert group to finalize the UNEP guideline document “PFAS analysis in water for the global monitoring plan of the Stockholm Convention: Set-up and guidelines for monitoring”, and serves as the guest editor to organize the special issues in TrAC-Trend.
